Vimshottari dasa is calculated based on the star in which moon is posited at the time of birth. Therefore the Dasa/Bukthi results should be given always based on the star in which the Dasa/Bukthi lord is posited. More importance is given to the house occupation and house lordship of a planet in whose star the Dasa/Bukthi lord is posited and no importance is given to the house occupation and house lordship of Dasa/Bukthi lord. With this back ground the following simplified rules are framed.
1. If there are planets posited in the stars of a specific planet, then the native will definitely enjoy the results of the house posited as well as the house owned by the specific planet.
2. If there are no planets posited in the stars of a specific planet, then the native will not enjoy the results of the house posited as well as the house owned by a specific planet.
3. During the Dasa/ Bukthi period, especially during the Bukthi period, the native will enjoy the results of the house posited as well as the house owned by the lord of the star in which the Dasa / Bukthi lord is posited.
