graphology - Retracing

Retracing

Retracing is the process wherein the pen re-inks a written portion of the line, usually in the opposite direction, such as a downward movement followed by an upward movement over the existing line.

Middle Zone Retracing

Formation: Retraced processing.
Explanation:
Characteristics:
  • They feel they cannot make (here and now aka MZ) decisions.
Observation: Seen in alphabet m and alphabet r

Lower Zone Retracing

Lower Zone Retracing is more difficult. Seen in alphabets y’s, g’s, and sometimes j ‘s. 180* angle = Stress
  • Untrusting
Antisocial - Shown when the lower loops of y’s, g’s, and sometimes j ‘s are retraced completely. The anti-social person does not trust anyone and rarely lets people get close enough to really know him. He fears getting hurt emotionally. This is a roadblock to intimacy.
What to say
You don't especially like new ideas:
You are a person who finds little or no room for intellectual growth. You tend to be satisfied with the knowledge you've gained and with the way things are. Some may think you are narrow minded and prejudiced but you really just prefer to recycle ideas and concepts from the past. It is less challenging than the uncertain adventure into the unknown with new ideas and innovative concepts.

Upper Zone Retracing

Formation: Upper Zone Retracing
Explanation: Upper zone retracing is (relatively) easier. Seen in alphabet h.
What to say
You are a person who finds it hard to escape the way you were brought up:
More than likely, you were brought up in a legalistic background.
Observation: Pride and Dignity - Shown in the t and d-stems that are retraced and taller than normal. These writers will demand respect and expect you to treat them with dignity.
