Functional Malefic

A planet is called functional malefic if it rules any of the 6th/8th/12th house with its Mulatrikona sign. When it aspects its own house, it strengthens the attributes of the aspected own house.

The strengthening in positive or negative way will depend on the original dignity of the functional malefic planet.

Jupiter, Moon and Venus which are considered natural benefic planets can play role of malefic planets and
Sun, Mars and Saturn known otherwise malefic can give positive results.

Rahu and Ketu always act as functional malefic for all the ascendants.
